From Dive Center Palamós we have organized a trip to Mar Roig, from October 22 to 29, 2022!
The trip will be through Brothers and the northern route of the Roig Sea, we will live aboard a spectacular boat, the Suny Revolution. It has 10 double cabins, 4 suites, living room and much more!
Do you know why it’s called Mar Roig?
It was given the name “red” due to the change in color of its waters, which go from greenish bruise to reddish. It is bordered in the north by the Sinai Peninsula, the Aqaba Golf and the Suez Golf, and in the south by the Aden Golf. The Red Sea is a narrow and elongated body of water.
What dives will we do?
- Brothers: Perfect for lovers of large animals and strong emotions. We can find longimanus sharks, hammerhead sharks, gray sharks, manta rays, dolphins and with a little luck we can even find a whale shark.
- Shark Yolanda Reef: the most famous diving spot in northern Egypt. It is a coral formation composed of two main pillars and a satellite with impressive walls that fall over 800m.
- Thistlegorm – Discovered by Jacques Custeau is considered the best wreck diving site in the world among recreational divers.
- Carnatic: ship sunk almost 150 years ago, its remains are full of coral and thousands of fish.
- Raído Zataar: it is a steep wall decorated with colorful alcyonaris, hard corals and a fan of gorgonies, one of the largest in the entire Red Sea.
- Giannis D: one of the most exciting sunken ships that we can find in Hurghada and throughout the Red Sea. From time to time, molar dolphins appear in the area.
- Ratty Katy: we found a multitude of fish at shallow depths, ideal for a relaxed photography dive.
Before Covid, the Dive Center Palamós had been relying on Suny Travel for years to make trips to Mar Roig, this year we are back! From €1390, for 7 days of life on board through Mar Roig.
