It is an attractive diving point located south of the Palamós Dive Center, just 20 minutes away by boat. During the journey we can enjoy the emblematic landscape of the Costa Brava.
We will pass in front of the commercial and fishing port of Palamós with all its hustle and bustle of boats entering and leaving its mouth, admiring the bay in all its breadth from Palamós and Sant Antoni de Calonge with its long promenade ideal for a quiet walk with sea views.
At the end of the promenade, south of Sant Antoni de Calonge, Torre Valentina, highlighting its tower of defense, one of the most famous and best preserved of the Costa Brava, is located in the heart of the coastal path, it was built to watch for possible pirates of the time.
On the way to our diving point we will go spotting those small coves that seem to be taken from a postcard that makes the Costa Brava so characteristic.
We will take advantage of the trip to explain the breafing corresponding to the dive and review the material again.
Upon arrival at the diving point we will see the Red Rock, located and n the coast, which we will use as a reference to find the start of the dive. Its name is due to its reddish color.
A long and wide bar, with one end 9 meters and another 30 meters deep where we will find sand and loose rocks that indicate that the bar has finished.
Because of its profile, the orientation is simple, we will descend through the cape and a few meters after descending we will see the bar about 14 meters away. We will start our dive at the top and we will follow it to its end, to return we will go up the bar to 16 m. where we will find the ascent cape again.
During the tour we will be able to appreciate a lot and varied life in the rock and in its multiple cracks, nudibranchs, octopuses, large moray eels and some rays perched on the sand.
In the blue it is common to find large schools of barracuda, groups of dentex, bream and some fleeting sunfish depending on the season.
When you finish a few meters from the cape you will see the point located at 9 meters in which you can appreciate the typical small life of the Costa Brava. Ideal diving for all levels.
