To get to the diving spot it will take us about 30 minutes and we will be able to see the towns of Calella and Llafranc from our boat, passing through the typical coves of the Costa Brava and the Formigues islands, famous for their naval battles.
We will arrive at the foot of the Sant Sebastián lighthouse and there, at about 168 meters above sea level, we find the San Sebastián lighthouse (Llafranc – Palafrugell) within the monumental complex of San Sebastián de la Guarda on the promontory of the cape of the same name.
It is the most important lighthouse in Catalonia and one of those with the longest light range in the world, the first in power in Spain, reaching up to 50 miles with flashes every 5”, cataloged as Great Lighthouse of First The Order has a differential Global Positioning System (DGPS).
On its façade you can read “Faro de S. Sebastián. Reign Doña Isabel Segunda. Inaugurated in 1857”.
There are three rocks aligned with each other, although we did the dive in the huge rock in the center. This rock is the one that contains the most life and your navigation will be around it.
Its top is located at 23 m. and its bottom at 44 m, is a deep dive in which we will have to be more aware of our control devices for our safety, since it is easy to enter decompression and air consumption will be high due to its depth.
Direction east we can find a second pinnacle full of gorgonians, its depth will be about 32 meters constantly, in this dive the fauna can be abundant and we can find schools of barracudas or skewers and the occasional large grouper will be the most normal .
Highlight its large gorgonians anchored to the wall, make the tour full of color, being a pleasing dive to look at.
Due to its depth, this dive will be for advanced levels. at least.
