Dive

5 minutes sailing from Dive Center Palamós heading south when we go through the mouth of Port Marina.

We will pass in front of the commercial and fishing port of Palamós with all its hustle and bustle entering and leaving through its mouth, admire in all its breadth the bay of Palamós and Sant Antoni de Calonge with its long promenade, ideal for a quiet walk with views Sea.

In front of the commercial port, we will see the Llosa de Palamos lighthouse, which indicates to the large tonnage ships that its depth is below this and that there is a possible danger of landing.

The Boreas was a tall tug of the German navy during the Second World War with 40 mt of length, its original name was Pellworm.

During the war it went to the American army, returned to German and finally went into civilian use with a Panamanian flag, being seized by the authorities for drug trafficking in 1989 on the coast of Begur.

Once sanitized and having eliminated the possible points of hooks, entrapments and other possible risks for the divers, they sank off the coast of Palamós.

Route

You descend through the cape located at the bow of the boat located about 22 mt deep, when you reach the end of the cape we will start diving directly to see the propeller located 32 mt, since this is the deepest part.

Then we will ascend to the aft deck where we begin to visit the different confined spaces starting with the cellar, where we find an air chamber that smiles at every diver who takes his head inside

Next we will visit the machine room with its impressive engine, which we can surround admiring its inlays that give it a beautiful color, at the exit we will find the kitchen going through the captain’s room, where we can observe the cabin cockpit.
There are other rooms of more difficult access and with little interest for the diver.

Finally we visit the entire deck of the ship looking for some hidden conger in some of the infinite corners that Boreas offers us.
